What sort of environment will my dog be in?
We offer two different options for dogs. The first is an indoor only kennel, which is a fenced enclosure of concrete and chainlink inside one of our heated and air conditioned buildings. The second option is our indoor/outdoor kennels, which include a smaller indoor area that connects to a very spacious outdoor run that the dogs have 24/7 access to, providing fresh air, sunlight, and ample room to exercise at the dog's own discretion.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
We require all dogs to be vaccinated against distemper, parvovirus, parainfluenza, bordetella, and rabies. You may bring a copy of your pet's vaccination records with you at the time of boarding, or you or your vet may e-mail a copy of them to us at WildernessKennelsNE@gmail.com. We also highly reccomend that your dog receive vaccinations against canine influenza and leptospirosis, though it is not a requirement. Although our facilities are kept clean and pest free, it is reccomended your pet also regularly receive protection from fleas and ticks.

Should I bring my own food?
You may bring your own food with you along with feeding instructions for your pet, although we will provide food if you choose not to bring your own. It is easiest for us if you can label the container with the dog's first and last name as well as how much food they are fed each feeding/day. We do not require you to bring your own food dishes.

What if my pet requires medication?

Should I bring my own bedding?

Though we provide beds for all animals, you may wish to bring your own bedding. Please be aware that many dogs will chew or otherwise destroy stuffed bedding when kenneled, even though they may not normally do so at home.

Are the dogs exercised?

Each pet has ample room in their kennel to run and play. For a small additional fee, your pet can receive personal exercise outside their run. Ask about out "playtime service".

What if I want my dog bathed or groomed before he comes home?

Most dogs leave the kennel just as clean as when they arrive. If you want your pet bathed, make arrangements at check in time and our groomer will bathe your dog prior to being picked up.
